“We're really tight on money.” 金欠状態のGekkostateは、結局Hapが怪しげな組織から取ってきた「密輸」＝“A smuggling job”を請け負うことになる。後で分かるのだが、これが臓器売買に関わっており、Gekkostateが実は犯罪組織だと噂されていたのも、根も葉もないことではなかった。
Hollandの９０９、Matthieuの６０６、そしてNirvashで出撃、途中、近道と通るために連邦軍の基地Orland Valleyの眼前を「正面突破」＝“A frontal assault”を試みる。軍KLFの追走をかわしながら逃げるHollandたち、Traparの大波に乗って見事なLiftingを見せる。「１２時間ほど前に、San Althis付近で大きな地殻変動が確認されたんだ。」「じゃ、そのTraparの大波がこの間欠泉に押し寄せてくるの？」＝“Roughly twelve hours ago, there was a big techtonic shift near San Althis.” “Can it be that trapar waves are all coming here to this geyser?”。
HollandたちのLiftingを目の当たりにして、気持ちもすっかり晴れるRenton、「本当のところ、全然格好良くないHollandたちにはがっかりしていたんだ。奴らは、何もしなかったし、しようともしなかった。でも、今HollandたちがRefをするのを見てる。それだけで十分だ。やっぱり、Gekkostateは、すごかったよ。」＝“To tell you the truth, I've been disappointed by Holland and the others. Because, they didn't seem to be cool, at all. They didn't do anything. They didn't even try to do anything.. But, now, I'm seeing Holland and the others lift in front of me. That is enough for me. Gekkostate's really awesome after all.
帰艦したRentonたち、怪しげな組織から報酬を値切られてしまったため、TalhoのKissはお預けで、なぜかTalhoがトイレ掃除をすることになったのだが、Talhoに借りがある＝“Owe you?”と言うことで、結局Rentonが掃除をする羽目になる。「何か納得できねぇー。」＝“There is something wrong about all this.”、この台詞、少なくとも三回、この第四話でつぶやいている。そこに用足しに来たMatthieuが話しかけてくる、「お前に一つ言っておくけどな、今日通った密輸の途、あそこにはあの間欠泉があっただろ。そこにTraparの大波が来ることを俺たちは知っていたんだ。それよりも何よりも、俺たちは、金のためにRefの大会には出ない。それが俺たちGekkostateだ。」＝“I tell you one thing, ．．．Smuggling course we took today had that cool geyser we passed through. There is going to be a major wave of trapars. Besides, more than anything, we never do any exhibition lifting in order to make money. It's just not our style.” Rentonは、HollandたちにClie主催のRefの大会に出場して、賞金稼ぎをすることを提案したのだが、その提案は無視されたのだった。
そして、Matthieuは続けて、「もう一つ、お前が気にしているみたいだから言うけど、普通あのガキどもがEurekaの実の子だと思うか。」＝“One more thing. You seem to pretty worried about it. So I just tell you. Cause, most people figure it out ( ). You see, those brats really aren't Eureka's kids.”
“Thanks, Matthieu.” “No Problem.” Matthieuは優しい奴だ。
